ceramic tile making 101

learn to make handmade tile at our downtown factory.  Our intro class is 5 weeks and includes an additional drop in sessions so you can finish your work.

subjects covered:

Tile Design – Slab Rolling – Cutting Tile – Decorative Textures – Preparing for Bisque – Loading a Kiln – Glazing Tile – Cutting & Setting Tile – Grouting

Each student will leave at the end of the session with their own tile collection and the ability to personally create and install ceramic tile.

students who have completed the 4 week intro class are welcome to sign up for studio subscriptions and drop-in studio time.

class includes:

Stoneware clay (white, red and speckle)

use of tools for patterning, sanding, cutting and glaze prep

glazes

firing

studio sessions – prerequisite:  4-week intro class.
